Ah- Joel? It's Elizabeth. I spoke with you a few days ago.
I found ammunition for you revolver, if you'd like to meet with me then I'm in front of where the apartment building used to be. I could meet you with you someone else, if you'd prefer...
[ Hermann's been struggling with this for days, in fact. When he'd realized just who had attacked Mr. Pinkman, he'd tempered his impulse to seek the man out with the pragmatic reminder that it wouldn't do much good. If Mr. Joel had lost his mind, the only thing Hermann would accomplish would be, possibly, getting himself killed -- and yet, should he warn others? Was it fair to hope his daughter had provided enough of a shock? He'd looked fine on the trip to Haven North, which further complicated things.
The network had filled with some bewildered by Haven, apparently having lost their memories, and the pattern made Hermann wonder. Abilities in flux, an expanse of illnesses, and memory disruption; given the timing, however disparate they seemed, they couldn't be unrelated.
Medicine fell. There's only one way to be sure. Hermann rings. ]
[Joel, on the other hand, isn't really thinking along those lines. He hears Hermann's voice and assumes he might need help with something. Heavy lifting, carrying something big and awkward around, whatever. So he's not particularly concerned.]
I don't give two shits if this gets to you or not. You got a lot of nerve you know that? Where the hell do you think you get off on dying on me?
[ There's a heavy exhale, shuddering at the end. She's not crying, she's pissed. She'd done her crying earlier. All that's left is a disbelieving anger now that it's had time to really sink in. ]
[Joel doesn't make a habit of checking his phone even on the best of days, but when his private line rings he usually picks up pretty quick. Because there are only a few people in Haven who are likely to use it, and only when there's trouble or they can't find him in person for whatever reason.]
[ It's pretty clear that she still has no idea how to use this damn phone, and you can hear the irritation in her voice briefly in the voice message. She groans. ]
Fuuuuck, finally. I thought I'd never get this piece of shit to work.
[ Brief silence. ]
Uh... Hey, Joel.
Look, I'm not gonna go on this long-ass tangent about yesterday, because I'm not in the mood and I don't want to get all weepy-eyed and preachy over it, but...
I'm sorry.
Riley... Showed up in my apartment last night. I know I lost my shit when you told me about her, but I wanted to let you know it's totally on me for being a dick to you over it.
[ Joel has not been able to stand using the network since it went on the fritz. Every time he looks at the damn phone, he just grits his teeth in annoyance, so he keeps this as short as he can: ]

What about you? Everything okay at the campsite? I'm comin' over there now.
