CAST;

ELLIE
"It's okay, baby girl."

She started as "just cargo," all those months ago in Boston. Now, Joel would do anything to keep her safe. He can't ignore the awkwardness between Ellie and Sarah, but loves them both and just wants them to be friends.

SARAH
"Don't leave me."

Gone for twenty years, his daughter has shown up in Haven and left Joel struggling with the differences between his past and present self. He's determined not to lose her again, though.

TESS
"Yes ma'am."

Joel's partner in business and in life back in Boston, Tess died in the Capitol and Joel thought he had moved on - until she showed up again in Haven. Now they're trying to salvage the pieces of their relationship in addition to staying alive and keeping Ellie and Sarah safe.

RILEY
"I struggled for a long time with survivin'."

Ellie's best friend, dead since the incident that resulted in her being bitten, Joel is a little suspicious of Riley, but Ellie cares for her deeply, and besides that, she's from their world. Joel believes they should all stick together.

HOUSEMATES;

HERMANN
"Doc 1"

After rescuing the batty scientist from a rampaging Deku scrub, Hermann quickly proved his overall competence, leading Joel to consider him one of his closer allies. Now, Joel is happy to act as a glorified pack mule for him in exchange for information and tech he comes up with.

NEWT
"Doc 2"

Hermann's partner-in-crime, Newt has by extension come under Joel's purview. Between the two of them, Joel considers them two of the most useful people in Haven - and he intends to keep them safe, if only so they can help get them out of here.

RALEIGH
"Pretty boy."

From the same world as Hermann and Newt, Raleigh has proved himself useful and trustworthy both - enough that Joel trusts him to train Sarah in some hand-to-hand combat. Behind that pretty face is a quick mind and a useful skill set. Not to mention a decent person - a rarity in Joel's experience.

MAKO
"Raleigh's boss lady."

Raleigh's co-pilot and partner, Joel trusts her instinctively - she has a take-no-prisoners attitude that reminds him of Tess and puts him at ease. She's also helping to teach Sarah, a strong mark of trust from Joel.

HERC
"Robot pilot dad."

Joel doesn't know Herc too well, but he's from the same world as Hermann, Newt, Raleigh and Mako, so by extension, that places him in the umbrella of Joel's trust (not to mention the fact that he's a housemate).

TRAVIS
"Smartass"

Mostly an unknown to Joel, he's a good friend of Newt's and somehow ended up a housemate - sharing a room with Ellie, Sarah, and Riley. Joel's more concerned about what they'll do to Travis, rather than the other way around.

AION
"The unknown."

Aion arrived in their apartment brand-new, and Joel doesn't know anything about him. Needless to say, he's keeping a close eye on the newcomer.

ALLIES;

LUCREZIA
"Princess"

A young girl with a lot of world-weariness for as sheltered as she seems to be, Lucrezia is sweet, kind and charming - someone who reminds Joel a lot of Sarah, and thus someone he wants to protect.

VANOZZA
"Queen of the single parents' club"

Lucrezia's mother, Vanozza is kind, compassionate and understanding - her patience is invaluable to Joel, and her rapport with Sarah and Ellie has become a big help, too. He's come to rely on her for parenting advice and a level of understanding his situation that almost no one else shares.

ELIZABETH
"The girl from a tower"

Straightforward, intelligent, but still strangely sheltered, Elizabeth has become a valued ally for Joel - she has the power to bring useful objects to Haven on occasion, and in return, he's offered her a spot at his fire if she needs it.

MIDII
"Warrior girl"

Midii reminds Joel at times of Sarah, and at times of Ellie. This strange mix has made him oddly fond of the girl, and he considers her one of "his" - someone to protect, and look after.

CLEMENTINE
"Apocalypse survivor"

A young girl from a situation much like Joel's, he quickly took her under his wing. When she disappeared, he assumed she went back to her home world, but then she returned, and didn't remember him. That's okay, though, Joel is happy to take her under his wing once more.

MERRILL
"Pointy ears"

A strange girl who can do magic and doesn't seem to have much common sense - but kindhearted and well-meaning. Her survival skills are lacking, but Joel feels the need to keep an eye on her, regardless.

THOR
"Rock hard"

One of the many goody-goody, hero types in Haven, Thor has proven himself a decent sort, if a bit strange. His skills, however, are useful, and Joel would rather not make an enemy of him.

ICHIKO
"Smartass kid"

Ichiko reminds Joel a lot of Ellie - she's got a smart mouth, but isn't any worse than most other teenagers. He'll look out for her, if she needs help.

TENTATIVE;

JESSE
"Schmuck"

Their first meeting was less than pleasant, as Joel had lost his Haven memories and tortured Jesse thinking he had information about Ellie's whereabouts. Nonetheless, after they both recovered, Joel apologized to the young man and they have reached a tentative kind of truce - to work together, and do what they can to shield Sarah from what she saw that day.

KOZMOTIS
"Asshole"

Koz rubs Joel the wrong way - probably because they're too much alike to get along very well. But Joel at least recognizes that the guy isn't a threat, per se - just kind of an asshole. If necessary, they will work together.

ENEMIES;

CECIL
"Delusional Yao fanboy"

Joel would have been perfectly content to ignore Cecil's existence - right up until he threatened the children of Haven, including Joel's own daughter. Now, Cecil is officially on Joel's shit list, and if he steps a toe out of line, Joel has every intention of making him pay - in a very painful, and drawn-out manner.

JUNKO
"Psycho girl"

Junk is, in Joel's mind, the worst kind of person - she has literally no empathy, and no self-preservation. She can't be tortured effectively, and she isn't afraid to die, knowing she would just come back. For now, he gives her a wide berth, but won't hesitate to act against her if he feels it's necessary.
